Build and boot tested 6.16.10-rc1 using qemu-x86_64. The kernel was
successfully built and booted in a virtualized environment without
issues.

Builds, boots and works on my 2-socket Ivy Bridge Xeon E5-2697 v2 server. No dmesg oddities or regressions found.
