My guess is that the driver for the AST1700 doesn't quite know how to deal with half the model existing and half of it missing. Is it possible to reorganize the patches so the `hw/arm/aspeed: Integrate AST1700 device into AST27X0` patch comes last? That way the driver will only know of the existence of the AST1700 when the model fully exists in QEMU. Mostly to make sure the machine works in any commit and not just at HEAD. Thanks!
